TN., in 1840. David was born in 1803 in TN. it is thought that David's father was John, who lived nearby in 1840. Virginia Jane Tucker whose parents were born in VA was born around 1804 in NC. David and Virginia had eight known children, starting with my ggg grandfather Lankford G. Evans b. in 1831 and died in 1923 at the age of 92. My wife Lee Ann and I purchased a bronze grave marker for his grave and cousins Sharon Davis, her mother Faye and Charles Wood put the marker on the grave on the 18th of Oct. 2005. Lankford Gordon Evans (my ggg grandfather) served in the Civil War in Co. K 42nd Reg. TN Infantry CSA, enlisting on 28 Dec. 1861. In his pension application he states that he was surrendered in Florida in early 1865. I do not know if this helps, let me know if I can be of further assistance.
