He attended country school in the Lake Park area. On April 6, 1943 Harvey was united in marriage to Lois Simington in Hawley, Minnesota. To this union four children were born. Harvey farmed in Minnesota before moving to Ruthven where he hauled milk for the Ruthven Creamery. He was later employed by the Ruthven Coop Oil Company where he drove the tank wagon. Harvey and Lois also operated the Laundromat in Ruthven and Harvey served as the Water Superintendent for the City of Ruthven for several years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ruthven and was active on the Ruthven Fire Department for many years. Harvey enjoyed fishing and camping. They started camping in a pickup camper and progressed to a motor home which he and Lois traveled south in during the winters. Harvey loved to take time to visit with his friends. He will be remembered as the man that could fix anything. It didn't matter if you were a child that needed a bike fixed or an adult with a car problem. Harvey was able to fix them all. He was a man of his word and if he told you something you could be assured it would be seen through to completion. Harvey died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jim Evans on October 24, 2007; a daughter-in-law, Sue Evans; and a sister, Leora.
