I learned from some relatives that my GGgrandmother's parents were William and Ann Evans and they were both from Wales. Their daughter Mary E. Evans told her children that she was born in Radnor, OH. Mary E. m. Edward R. Hughes and they lived in Venedocia, Van Wert Co., OH., about 1820 she moved to Michigan to live with her daughter Anna Mary Hughes Morgan. Is your Evan Evans in the 1840 and 1850 Delaware Co. Censuses? Have you found the ship they took to the US?
