Hope you're still there at this email address. .I am originally from Gallipolis Ohio. John Layfayette and Mariah Evans were my Great GreatGrandparents. So , yes, this rings a bell, but I'm not sure what new info I would have. Mariah's father was Evan Evans, mother Elizabeth (Edwards) Evans. They immigrated from Wales, i think around 1830. I haven't been able to find records. Mariah was born in Gallia County Ohio 7-26-1852. She married John L. Stevers 11-08-1869 in Gallia County. She died in 1921. Buried at Bethel Church Cemetary, Bladen , Ohio,( just a few miles south of Gallipolis) Her mother and father are also buried there. If you're interested I have names of all of her children. Not to be morbid, but I do have pictures of headstones and the church where the Evanes are buried. I'd be happy to send them to you.I wish i had pictures of them, but this was the best I could get.
