John Evans children lived closeby as well as Col. John Evans himself. Don't have her listed in John Evans, Sr. will, but that doesn't mean much. The John Evans, Sr. I'm talking about married a lady named Margaret, was born close to Radnor, Pa. and died of a rattlesnake bite. Is this the same one? I also have a aJacob VanMeter ,mentioned in book II of "The Monongalia Story" by Earl Gore and I have made a note to myself (I have no idea where it came from) that a VanMeter married into the Evans family.
