Evans who died in Macon, Georgia is indeed the son of Charles Thomas Pope Evans and Judith Bassett. A quick look at the publicly accessible Death Certificates in Georgia shows this from his death certificate: Death Certificate of William R. Evans: Died in Macon, Bibb Co., GA, in Macon on April 22, 1926. He had lived in Macon for 40 years at time of death. His address at death was 324 Jenkins St. in Macon. His widow was Ella Brown Evans, his date of birth was 06/23/1856, age at death was 69. His occupation had been "with Southern Ry." He was born in Georgia, and his father's name was C.T.P. Evans, also born in Georgia. His mother's name was Judith Bassett, born in Georgia. The informant on the death certificate was Mrs. W. R. Evans at 324 Jenkins St., Macon, GA (his newly widowed wife). Cause of death: Influenza, Bronchiopneumonia, with chronic nephritis as contributory factor. He was to be buried at Riverside Cemetery in Macon. My branch of the family veers from yours at Arden Evans' children. While the branch of Charles Thomas Pope Evans is the branch of Arden's son Thomas, my branch continues with one of Arden's other sons, Arden, Jr. And the fuller version of the names of William R. Evans and Ella Brown Evans' children were: William T., b. Aug 1880 John D., b. Jan 1881 Henry Joseph, b. Apr 1885 John B., b. Feb 1888 Myrtle L., b. Aug 1889 Charles R., b. Aug 1892 Wyatt C., b. Sept 1896 (in addition, there were 2 other children born to them, but they died in infancy, and I don't have their names/DOB's since I haven't researched that branch that far) This William R. Evans stayed in Georgia all his life, from birth to death, and he had only the one wife, Ella Carolyn Brown.
