I was writing from memory [not a good practice in my case]. Anyway, I checked my files and found his death certificate. Here is the note I attached to it: Here is our "Honey Boy's" Death Certificate. Note that he is listed as William George Evans, having been born in Wales to John Evans and Elizabeth Downing [incorrect: should be Dowling]. He was born on March 10, 1870; died at age 44 years 11 months 23 days on March 5, 1915.... of pancreatic cancer. He was in the Union Protestant Infirmary for about 3 days before he died. He is to be buried in Streater, Ill [incorrect: Streator, Illinois] on March 6 1915. [which is pretty amazing that they were able to get the remains there in 24 hours] Don't see any reference to his wife; no mention of her name... His occupation: actor, playwright.
