    3. Dear Members of the Evans List @ Rootsweb, I'm sharing an email [corrected] which I just sent to Earlene who made those images of the Evans Bible in Ohio. I am so grateful. Words just can't express. I wanted the whole Evans list to know about this development to assure them that The List WORKS !!! Renee ps Judy Minihan... thanks for being so alert and letting Earlene know about me email sent to Earlene R H Bennett [No Chain Emails Please!] wrote: GOD BLESS YOU! This is like a gift to me from the universe. I've been working so very hard since my trip on producing a home made "book" of my recent pilgrimage to our Evans Ancestral Homeland from St. Louis. In fact this morning I am working with the rough draft. It is 100 pages long. You can be sure there will be an addendum with your email, crediting your graciousness and including the Bible. Aren't digital cameras wonderful? They allow almost perfect reproduction without injuring the delicate artifacts in any way [as a copy machine can]. How can I express my appreciation for your sharing this with us? ... I'd love to find out who else is researching Richard. I am waiting for Rootsweb to complete my application for an Evans list separate from the general Evans list we belong to. Mine will be named EVANS-MDPAKYOHINLA@rootsweb.com to reflect our particular line. In fact, I'll just forward the announcement of it that I made to relatives near and far. I am all about sharing. There was a member of our family who "hoarded" the family bible of my G Grandfather, George Robinson Evans and his wife, Parolee Doss. When that person died someone kindly took digital photos of the information and that was a major breakthrough for our family research. I can't understand someone hoarding information on DNA that runs in the blood of others. Please understand how very overwhelmed I am by this revelation and by your kindness. It just blows me away! I'm including my Evans cousin in this email who met me in Kentucky and shared this pilgrimage with me. She will be delighted to hear about the digital photos you have sent. I was in the very museum you saw the Bible in just one week ago today! No one there mentioned its existence. I could have taken the digital photos myself [but then I wouldn't have gotten to "meet" you.] They were all so busy getting ready for some event that I guess they didn't think to let us know. Whatever, thanks to you we now have the information. Renée ps... More thoughts occurring: I, too, am surprised by the Catholic Bible bit..... I had thought they were all staunch Presbyterians. Wonder what was going on there? Many of the Evanses in New Orleans are Catholic... might have something to do with the partners they married; perhaps some of them were Catholic. Now.... if I could just find a Bible for Richard and Samuel who lived in Maryland and Pennsylvania! We might really make some progress in finding out where the Evanses came from in Wales.
