My great-grandmother was Marged Ann and she was taken to western NY State to live with friends/relatives William & Letitia LEWIS (both born in Wales & went to USA as children & had a son Harry /Henry). This occurred after the father David EVANS was killed c.1882 or 1883 while repairing an engine on tracks near his house - he was a lead miner. His wife (Margaret Jones EVANS) remarried, but I don't have her married name. - I know that she visited her daughter Margaret Ann Evans ZURBRICK twice in the USA. I have reason to believe that Deborah EVANS and Emily EVANS may have emigrated - possibly to the U.S.A. like their sister Margaret. The oldest sister, Mary Ellen Evans (b. 1875), was still in Llanidloes in 1891, still living at 6 Van Terrace, Llanidloes, Wales with her grandparents, David Jones (blacksmith, b. Kilrhedyn in 1816) and Mary Jones (b. 1820 in Clydey, Wales). The rest of the family were gone or scattered or married in 1891. I'm looking for any descendants of Mary Ellen, Deborah or Emily EVANS so that we can compare notes. Thanks, Linda Zurbrick O'Halloran Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
