Author: FlorannField Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9882.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you so much for the info, I believe on the 1870 census that the Allen is our Allyn (a difference in spelling) I can't find Allyn (the one married to Annie) either - my father always said his grandfather Allyn was never around - but could remember his grandmother. Also on the census of Wm and Edith Evans - the sister-in-law in that is Neva (Geneva) sister to my grandmother Edith. The first Allyn had to have been around some, for there was a daughter also - I do not know her name. Thank you so much there is also another census with an Allen - I really believe that the census taker misspelled the name, common error in that name.
