    1. [EVANS] Looking for Info on William H. Evans
    2. William was born October 11, 1813 in Holly Hills, SC. By 1840 he was living in Newport, Tennessee and married Amilia Elizabeth Mims. They had 8 to 10 children. William died in 1863. I've tried everything I know to try and identify William's father, but keep hitting a brick wall. No one even seems to know why or how William H. ended up in Tennessee. Ancestry.com has him listed as a son of Rowland Evans, the Rev. War soldier, but that is incorrect. Rowland did had a son William, but it wasn't William H. Rowland was killed in 1781 and William was not born until 1813. Just a little gap in the calendar there. :) I suspect, but can't prove, that the lineage goes Rowland, William, then William H. I found William on the 1830 SC census, with a son of the correct age bracket, but of course that doesn't really prove anything. I even found a brief family history written by another branch of the family, but it was mostly about Rowland firstborn son John. Unfortunately, it had almost no information about William or his descendants. Any suggestions or information would be welcome. Thanks Jeanne
