Is there anyone on this list that is researching the EVANS surname found in Washington, DC? I am at a huge brickwall on my EVANS family. My ggrandfather was Robert Lee Evans. He lists on his marriage record that his parents were John and Nettie Evans. On the 1900 census he lists their birthplace as Washington, DC but he was born in Virginia. His birth year would have been 1872/marriage record and according to census, I can't find a John and Nettie Evans with a son in the 1880 census. I did find a John and Henrietta Evans in Rockbridge Co., Va in 1870 and 80 but no children in household. Both of these people listed Washington, DC as their birthplace........I can't find them in 1900 census. If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Bev
