Author: tbrunson1 Surnames: Evans, Hotchkist, Tumbleston, Brunson, Blyth, Brooks Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9704/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for George R. Evans' parents or siblings. He was born in SC around 1890 and died 10 May 1931. I have found him on the 1920 and 1930 census with his wife and children. Cannot find him on any earlier census. His wife was Stella (Shepherd) born about 1890. His children are Bertha S. Evans Brooks b. 1909, Mamie L Evans Blythe b. 1915, Gertrude V Evans Tumbleston b. 1917, Dorothy B. Evans Hotchkist b. 1918, (all deceased) and 2 sons who died as children. Gertrude Evans Tumbleston is the only child to have a child (my mother-in-law b.1946). My mother-in-law says George was a police detective for the Charleston, SC police department. The 1920 census says he's a riveter with the navy yard. She assures me that is wrong. I am trying to find this info. from Mississippi. I will be in Charleston in a few months to visit my in-laws. If you have any advice as to how to find this man I would appreciate it. I am a bit new to genealogy research. Thanks in advance, Tiffany Brunson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. A riveter at a Navy Yard is possible, in making the ships they would have people as riveters. delilah ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <EVANS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 11:09 PM Subject: [EVANS] george r. evans, charleston, sc | This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. | | Author: tbrunson1 | Surnames: Evans, Hotchkist, Tumbleston, Brunson, Blyth, Brooks | Classification: queries | | Message Board URL: | | http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9704/mb.ashx | | Message Board Post: | | Looking for George R.
