Many more arrived before Peter Evans, my presumed ancestor, arrived in 1650. Peter is presumed to be son of Griffith, although the math of descent is a stretch. Peter's son, Peter, is presumed to have moved into North Carolina by 1706. A Griffith Evans was transported to Virginia by William & Peter Prestly (sic) in 1666. This may be the "Griffin" Evans whose will was proved in Henrico Co., VA, 1 Aug 1681. Peter, son of Griffith, is said to have died, 1706, in Henrico Co., VA. However, a Peter Evans made a will dated 27 Jan 1695/96 in Westmoreland Co., VA, with wife & 2 children with sames names as those who arrived with Peter in 1650. Any way I look at it, I need at least one more generation to get from Griffith Evans to the Peter Evans and his wife, Sarah Wynns, who is mentioned as "wife of Peter Evans" in the will of her father, George, dated 1751.
