You can find a list of Members of Quantrill's Guerrillas in the Civil War at http://history.cc.ukans.edu/heritage/research/quantrill.txt I see two names of Evans men on it. One is James Evans, the other is Tom Evans. If the James Evans is the one I suspect he is, he was gunned down in his home in 1862 by a gang of Union Soldiers in Missouri. The List indicates that the Tom Evans surrendered at Smily, Ky. Was kept in prison at Lexington, Ky. Released after the end of the war. Hope this helps your research. Good Luck!
