My ancestor David Evans 1765-1849 had a son johnson r. 1818-1896 he was with the 8th confederate confederate cavalry Co. D Mo. whose relates married into the Daltons. As far as I can tell the James and youngers & daltons all rode with Contrell's Raiders during the war. If someone can find a roster of that Col.'s unit they'll find out if the Evans were connected.
