You have told us only some of the "WHO", only a little of the "WHEN", but NONE of the "WHERE". Surely you know both "WHERE & WHEN" your Father was born & hopefully the same for your Grandfather. There are way to many EVANS even here in Texas, not to mention the ENTIRE USA etc. for any of us who don't know your family to find any of your info if you don't give all the above. Also I do not know how to use or answer those post that go to the message board and if anybody answers a question from me I can't tell if they are talking to me or who, I think they want people to use the message boards more but its just too much to keep transferring back and forth so I don't use them, if you want help from me, you have to write where I know its to me, and I think every EVANS family has a Thomas EVANS in their line - so I am with you, tell me what you want, give me the info to work with, then get out of my way while I do my job. well that might not apply here but it did when i was working. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <EVANS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 15, 2007 3:28 PM Subject: Re: [EVANS] Evans Family | This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. | | Author: finlplnr | Surnames: | Classification: queries | | Message Board URL: | | http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9678.1/mb.ashx | | Message Board Post: | | To research or help anyone we need to know "WHO, WHEN, & WHERE" !! I agree with you Delilah ... perhaps we do not have an EVANS administrator any longer ? It IS a bit confusing. People go to Rootsweb and make vague posts under certain threads, perhaps just asking questions related to that particular thread. Then those questions/posts automatically show up on the EVANS list and most people have no idea what the reference is to. So guess it is up to those of us who KNOW about this occurence, to be careful when we post on the Rootsweb boards and include complete information so that when it shows up on the EVANS list it will be understood by all. Everyone needs to specify WHO they are directing the post to and include as much information as possible in the posting. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Delilah" <diamond6468@mindspring.com> To: "EVANS" <> Sent: Sunday, April 15, 2007 3:45 PM Subject: Re: [EVANS] Evans Family > Also I do not know how to use or answer those post that go to the message > board and if anybody answers a question from me I can't tell if they are > talking to me or who, I think they want people to use the message boards > more but its just too much to keep transferring back and forth so I don't > use them, if you want help from me, you have to write where I know its to > me, and I think every EVANS family has a Thomas EVANS in their line - so I > am with you, tell me what you want, give me the info to work with, then > get > out of my way while I do my job. well that might not apply here but it did > when i was working. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> > To: <EVANS-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, April 15, 2007 3:28 PM > Subject: Re: [EVANS] Evans Family > > > | This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > | > | Author: finlplnr > | Surnames: > | Classification: queries > | > | Message Board URL: > | > | http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9678.1/mb.ashx > | > | Message Board Post: > | > | To research or help anyone we need to know "WHO, WHEN, & WHERE" !! Author: jolijolihicktown Surnames: Evans, Miller Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9678/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I would like to know if anyone could help me with my lineage; I am an Evans from my father's side (Donald Marshall Evans). He has 3 brothers, David, Douglas, and Dennis. His mother is Barbara Irene Hall. His father is Frederick Linden Evans, who died Feb. 13, 1991 in Texas. His parents were Wood Evans (1904-1974) and Edith Victoria Miller (1909-2006). I know that I have a TON of relatives in Maryland, where my great-grandmother (Edith) lived. Although, honestly, I didn't even know I was related to anyone else there until recently. I have an Uncle Tom and an Aunt Beverley there, both of whom I know, just didn't know I was related too. And judging by the amount of people at my great-grandma's funeral, I have way more relatives than I thought. Any help would be very greatly appreciated! I am an EVANS who is a descendent of EDWARD EVANS (B: abt 1765 in ??? (Virginia/West Virginia/Pennsylvania??) & D: 1838 in Clay County, Kentucky). There is some evidence that he may have been a son or grandson of SAMUEL(son) or RICHARD (father) who were from Wales & Pennsylvania and apparently moved to MONONGALIA COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA in 1790 during the Whiskey Rebellion. Do you know who your descendents were back to late 1700s or early 1800s & also WHERE were they born??? This was sent to the Muscogee County, GA message board. Kemis Massey Hi All, I thought I had posted this already, but could not find it anywhere :-(. I think what may have happen is I had talked to someone that said his sister had the survey that may have had some of the many unknowns. She was sick and I could not contact her. Good luck to all. Don't know anything about this family, but think that 'Nettie' is a nickname for 'Jeanette' or 'Janette or perhaps 'Annette'' if that would be of help. Aileen in WA ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

I am trying to find information for a John EVANS with wife, NETTIE. John and Nettie were the parents of my ggrandfather, Robert EVANS, who m. Clara RULE in 1894 in Fayette Co., WV. Robert's age in 1894 was 23, he states on census that he was born in D.C. and on marriage license he has Va. as his place of birth. I can't find John with wife NETTIE in census. Did find a John with wife Henrietta in 1870/80 census but no children were in household. I am hoping someone on this list may have some information that could be of help to me. I am at a brick wall with this couple. "ANY" info or clue would be most appreciated. Thanks for any help given, Bev

I am looking for anyone who is descended from Mary EVANS(and James Newton SORROW). Mary EVANS was born about 1856 in Georgia. She married James Newton SORROW(who was born about 1852 in Georgia). They had 3 children, according to the 1880 Census - John W. SORROW, Mary E. SORROW & Hattie J. SORROW(my Great Grandmother-she married John William Terrell ADAMS). James Newton SORROW worked in a Blacksmith shop in (Lithonia)-Dekalb County, Georgia. If any of this information looks familiar to anyone - and you might any more information, I would really like to hear from you. Thank you, Nancy Bedell
