Author: IAmLindaReed Surnames: evans/graham/jeffords Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9746.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I always welcome new eyes to try to help in this family search. I'm fairly sure that Samuel Graham who died in 1831 in Clay Co., IL is the father to Harrison Graham and most likely John Graham and Washington Graham, perhaps Stephen W. Graham and Elizabeth Graham who married Daniel Evens or Evans or Evins, etc. I haven't found much regarding these families prior to 1830 as there are lots of Evans, Grahams, and Jeffords in the KY census and so far I've not been able to sort out when belongs to my group. The all seem to cling to the basic names of John, Thomas, Andrew, Samuel, etc. I do have the following events in as chronological order as possible. 1817 - Margaret Evens married John Jeffords in Jefferson Co, KY John Jeffords is enumerated On the 1830 Clay Co., IL census, and living nearby are, Seth, Andrew, Anne, and John Evans, and Samuel Graham. Samuel Graham assigned over to John Evans a wagon to satisfy a lawful debt on 14 June 1831; recorded 6 Aug 1831. A John Graham, John Evans and Andrew Evans were the administrators of the property of Samuel Graham and posted bond for such on 2 August 1831. John Jeffords and Andrew Evens were the appraisers of the goods and chattels and personal estate of Samuel Graham 18 Jan 1832 in an Inventory of Bill of Appraisement. A John Jeffords, Andrew Evans, Washington Graham, John Evans, John Graham all purchase goods from the sale of this estate. Daniel Evans married Elizabeth Graham 30 Apr 1837 in Clay Co., IL Stephen W.Graham married Darcus Evans 21 May 1837 in Clay Co., IL Daniel Evans is the head of household on 1840 Census in Clay Co., IL. Living nearby are, Seth Evans, Thomas Evans, John Evans, and Andrew Evans, John, Stephen W., and Harrison Graham, and John Jeffries (Jeffords). 1850 Richland Co., Il census shows that Margaret (Evans) Jefferies as being from Maryland, as well as Andrew Evans, Darcus (Evans) Graham, and Seth Evans, who lives in nearby Clay County, IL, all being from Maryland. This is a work in progress. Linda Reed Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Lani Erselloyd Evans was my grandfather, he had a "wife" named Paula, they had 2 children Joan(Leilani)and Douglas (Sonny). Joan is my mother born 1930, died 1982. Paula and Lani never married and she died in 1940 age 36. Your sister-in-law may have met me at the funeral? I was only 11 years old and do not recall being at the funeral. Who is your sister-in-law, we know Grandad had another family a boy and a girl but nothing more. We are doing a family search that began with looking for his brother, BIlly Pape, a circus acrobat - another mystery until recently, info from another extended "found family" source. Would like to talk to you and yours. regards Pat Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [EVANS] David & Margaret (Jones) EVANS family - Llanidloes, Wales
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: lindaohdsl Surnames: Evans, Jones, Lewis, Zurbrick Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9742/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, The family of David EVANS (b. 1852 Nantcwnlle, Wales) and wife Margaret (Jones) EVANS (b. 1852 Llanbadarn-Fawr, Wales) were on the 1881 census for Llanidloes, Wales (at #6 Van Terrace) with their 4 daughters, Mary Ellen EVANS (b. 1875), Marged Ann (Margaret Ann EVANS b. 1877), Deborah EVANS (b. 1879) and Emily EVANS (b. 1880). My great-grandmother was Marged Ann and she was taken to western NY State to live with friends/relatives William & Letitia LEWIS (both born in Wales & went to USA as children & had a son Harry /Henry). This occurred after the father David EVANS was killed c.1882 or 1883 while repairing an engine on tracks near his house - he was a lead miner. His wife (Margaret Jones EVANS) remarried, but I don't have her married name. - I know that she visited her daughter Margaret Ann Evans ZURBRICK twice in the USA. I have reason to believe that Deborah EVANS and Emily EVANS may have emigrated - possibly to the U.S.A. like their sister Margaret. The oldest sister, Mary Ellen Evans (b. 1875), was still in Llanidloes in 1891, still living at 6 Van Terrace, Llanidloes, Wales with her grandparents, David Jones (blacksmith, b. Kilrhedyn in 1816) and Mary Jones (b. 1820 in Clydey, Wales). The rest of the family were gone or scattered or married in 1891. I'm looking for any descendants of Mary Ellen, Deborah or Emily EVANS so that we can compare notes. Thanks, Linda Zurbrick O'Halloran Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
