I am looking for a Homer R. (Raymond) Evans. He was born in Douglas County, Kansas October 17, 1874. The last time I can find him is in living in Logan County, Colorado 1917/1918 and working for a Virgil Peade?, as per his WW1 draft card. He was known to work and follow the railroad at times. I've looked for him in the 1920 census under varies spellings and I still haven't found him. He has been a brickwall for me for some time. He was married at one time to a Eva Richards, but they divorced and she remarried, to a Will Anderson. He and Eva did have two daughters. Wilma and Elsie, but I don't know if he spend any time with them after the divorce. Thanks for any help. Rhonda ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

Start with the census records. I'd start with 1870 and work backward. There are no guarantees that he will appear in all three (1850-1870), but he should show up in at least two of them. THANK YOU BILL AND BOB!!! AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO SENDS HELP!! I had no idea so many of you would respond! I am so grateful! Joanne
I have finally found a male cousin who is willing and eager to submit a DNA sample in an attempt to connect our branch of the "tribe" to an earlier progenitor. BUT! I have misplaced the information I had on how to go about getting the kit, etc., and where to send it. I would appreciate so much if someone would please tell me how to do this?? And, if possible, the amount it will cost us. I sincerely thank you!! Joanne Evans Hodges grandmah@bigskytel.com

I am sure that they originated in Wales, as it is a very Welsh name, but I have not managed to trace them back into Wales yet. They all seem to descend from one family, or possibly two, but the parish records are proving somewhat problematic to interpret. There are a large number of these people in 19th century Appledore/Northam, so I cannot list them here. Regards Jan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Although my Evans ancestor immigrated to the US in the early 1800's from Weshhpool, Montgomeryshire I found a relative who's family had stayed in Welshpool and migrated later on to England because we have an exact match on our mitochondrial DNA. My ancestor was Ann (possibly Evans) b. 1832 Wales who married William Evans of Welshpool. His ancestor was Elizabeth Evans b. 1816, Welshpool. What are the names of the people you are researching, when born and place. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
