She was born some time around the 1870's but I don't know where. She married Frank J. Elliott in Caldwell Co., Texas in 1901 and had 3 sons, John Oscar (1901), Jesse Carl (1906) & Troy E. (abt 1913). Her father's name was John Joe Evans (I know nothing about him either). Minnie died some time between 1913-1920. I have a photo of her mother but no name. I'm pretty sure her husband's real name was John Franklin, but he went by Frank. He was born in TX about 1875. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer. I'm asking for help in identifying this lady. Known as "Nannie" Evans, she was a school teacher in the 5th District of Davidson County, TN. She taught at the Murrell School (known as the New Hominy School for a short period) in the now Una Community in Nashville, TN. We know that she was there around 1879. I find her living with the Cephas Harwood family in the 1880 Census, Davidson County, 5th District.. Her name was listed as "Nancy," her age was shown as 29. She is shown as born in Tennessee. An occupation was not shown. We know that this is the lady we are looking for. I have found a "Nany" Evans in the 1870 Census for the 6th District of Davidson County, TN. This "Nany" was a House Servant in the home of William & Mary Gambil. There she is shown as 19, also stating born in Tennessee. I can find no further information on her. Interviews with local residents in 1951 show that she was still living at that time (she would have been about 100) in the White's Creek Pike area of Nashville, Davidson County, TN. Do any of you EVANS researchers know anything about this lady? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I originally put info on Sarah Evans Pittsley, John Lew's second wife, my gggrandmother. Just for your info I have accumulated data on James F. Green, son of Oliver Green married to Abilgail Pittsley. He lived in Lawrence Township, Brown Co., WI and was married to Sylvia Vose, daughter of Seward and Angeling Phillips Vose. The Vose, Burt and Phillips families all moved out to WI about the same time from NY. They moved back and forth between Brown Co and Crawford Co. The following is what I have collected on James F. Green. I also have also transcribed the S. Lawrence Cemetery and taken photos of all of the gravestones if you would like a copy of James and Sylvia. Did you find out anything on John's second wife Polly Evans Pittsley while you were researching? Like a birth date or marriage date. I believe they were married between 1830 when Sarah Polly's daug. Polly and Phineas Burt were married in Tioga co.in 1829 and when they are found in 1840 census in Cuba, Allegany Co., NY. In 1840 they are neighbors to John's daughter Eliza and her husband David Brock and Phineas Burt and his wife Polly Evans Burt, Sarah Polly's daug. and John's son Sylvester. ********************************* 1880 US Census Census Place District 16, Lawrence, Brown, Wisconsin Family History Library Film 1255418 NA Film Number T9-1418 Page Number 257A James F.
