He had owned property in Bridge Street, Brecon which passed to a younger son David Evans (1835 - 1872) who had owned th Bridge End Tavern, Brecon, before passing onto the elder brother Thomas (the hatmaker). There are also indications of a link to the Saunders faily of Lampeter. Thomas died 31 Mar 1888 in Brecon. Any leads to the family would be appreciated. She was married to William George Evans and they were traveling with their family through Arkansas coming from N.C. Stories from some folks in Arkansas say she and William George Evans and the family died during the wagon train's journey through Arkansas. However, William G. Evans brought my great grandfather Joseph Wesley Evans and his siblings into west Texas so we doubt that he and the family died in Arkansas. I am seeking information on Jonathan EVANS son of Richard EVANS Jr. and Elizabeth LILLY. He was born in 1670. He married Mary LUTEN the daughter of Thomas LUTEN. They married in 1712. He died in 1723 or 25 in CHowan County NC. He was born in Virginia. He was the eldest of five children. These children were named in their father Richard's will in 1693. Jonathan, Richard III, Rebecca, Ann, and Sarah. Richard and Sarah both died in Beaufort and Chowan Counties in 1753 and 52. . RIchard may have died in Chowan, but his will was probated in Beaufort County in 1753. Is there anyone doing research on this family. Also several documents show Rebecca was born between 15 Aug 1675 and 1688. Old Albemarle County Perquimans County Probate Records show her d.b. in 1688, and the Transportation of Persons Form shows that all of Richard and Elizabeth's eldest children were born before 15 Aug 1678. Jonathan and Mary :LUTEN EVANS had three daughters ELizabeth, Mary, and Sarah. Elizabeth and Sarah married Haughtons. Le

He was the son of David and Ruth (Alderson) Evans from Greenbrier co. VA/WV. I thought something might be connected with that name. I saw a Griffith in Augusta in 1790. There is a whole list of them in Shenandoah, Augusta (which Greenbrier was a part of) and Washington Co. Va and Halifax, Va tax lists. Dear Ramona and her Dad, You cannot imagine how many times I opened my EVANS Digest with such great expectation and found nothing for me. Soooo, to write late one night and get an answer the next day - well, I am beside myself. And to think I only have a few minutes to bridge such a generation gap!!! I have information about Jonathan 1849 to today and I think some of your side. I have the info on an old version of Family Tree. However, I am not very computer literate. I will have to find out how to get it to you. My email address is: mldorang@hctc.net - write me. Perhaps you can tell me how to do it or how to send it to your website. Thank you so much. Maybe my brick wall has at last crumbled! Louise
