    1. [EVANS] ELIJAH EVANS WILL NAMES DAU. M. FREEMAN TALIAFERRO CO GA 1838
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: VivianCates50 Surnames: EVANS/FREEMAN/DURHAM Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9916/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Below I have transcribed the will of Elijah Evans d. between July and November 1838 in Taliaferro County, Georgia. I am trying to determine if his daughter, Ann H. Freeman was the mother of my ancestor, John G. Freemen, who married Martha Jane Durham in adjoining Greene County, Georgia, October 7, 1852? This has been a "stone wall" in my research for over 40 years. I have no family traditon or stories earier than 1850. Is this Ann H. Freeman the same as Nancy Evans married Willial Freeman in Wilkes County, Georgia, in 1824. Did they have a son Elijah L. Freeman b. c. 1825 who went to Tallapossa County, Alabama, by 1860 and probably married his Evans 1st cousin? Who were the parents of this Elijah Evans d. 1838? There seems to have been at least one other Elijah Evans who was buying from the estate of William Evans, Sr., Revolutionary Soldier, who also died in Taliaferro County in 1841. William's will (transcribed by another researcher on Genforum)names a son Elijah and does not mention him as being deceased. More questions than answers? Another lineage at familysearch.org claims that this Nancy Evans who married William Freeman went to Paulding County, Georgia. Both a William Freeman and Elijah Evans were in the 605th GMD of Taliaferro County for the Gold Lottery and Land Lottery and are missing from the 1840 census. Any assistance appreciated. I also noticed by trying to clear up the image with one of my programs, the sons you say may be twins as I also thought, might not be. here is what I came up with just from this census and not any other records. Arthur EVANS DEC 1853 AGE SHOWN AS 46 Ann-----------AUG 1854 AGE SHOWN AS 45 John A.-------MARCH 1878 AGE SHOWN AS 22 Edd-----------AUG 1879 AGE SHOWN AS 20 Charles-------JULY 1882 AGE SHOWN AS 17 Helen---------MARCH 1885 AGE SHOWN AS 15 George -------JULY 1887 AGE SHOWN AS 12 So does this make some sense as to ages? not in my EVANS TREE, :( Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: kbab212 Surnames: Evans, Drake, Kidney Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9913/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi everyone Please Please!!! Help!!!! I am looking for Arthur Evans Born abt 1854 in Wisconsin But came to Michigan don't know when. I am looking to find out who his parents are . He was married to Ann Evans who Was born in abt 1855 in Ireland. They Had a son John Evans born I think March 3, 1978 in Union City MI and died May 12th,1909 of appendicitis. John was married to Margaret Evans(Kidney), John had two children Henry and Irene by Margaret. After John Died she married Deforest Lovejoy. They lived in Sherwood Michigan. Henry Evans married Dema Drake in June of 1928 in Branch county Michigan Arthur and Ann also had Edgar or Edd born abt 1879 Charles or Charlie born about 1882, Helen born about 1875, and Helen married Leo J Roan and lived Clarendon Michigan, Helen I think died abt Feb 1995. I find Arthur living with them in 1920, then living with his son Gorge in 1930 in Lansing Michigan George born about 1882 possibly George and Charles are twins? Anyway I think Arthur died in either Branch county MI or Calhoun County. In the 1910 Census it says Arthur was widowed. The last I see of Arthur and Ann together is in the 1900 Census living in Burlington Michigan. I would like to know when Ann and Arthur Evans Died and where they are buried if possible. I would like to find out who Arthur's parent. I have been exploring every website I can. I would appreciate any help as I am at a dead end. Thanks Kim Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: NedraE Surnames: Evans, Barnes, Corriveau Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9912/mb.ashx Message Board Post: George W. Evans was born 1891 in Aston (Birmingham), England in 1893 and came to Canada about 1911. At the time, his family was living in Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield. He homesteaded in Sask., then moved to Vancouver some time after WW1. His first marriage was said to have produced two daughters. I have no names for the spouse or children. Second marriage about 1948 to Edna Juanita Corriveau. They had a florist shop in Vancouver. They later lived in Bella Coola, where George may have been a magistrate. They moved to Quesnal about 1959, where he died in 1963 and was buried at Quesnel Municipal Cemetery. I'm hoping to find more information on his first marriage, and family. Thank you!
