If male descendants of the David Evans line and Walter Evans line submitted a dna sample there could be significant benefits. Samples from the Arden Evans line would also be beneficial. Anyone that submits a sample should also provide a detailed family tree. It would really be significant to trace the Evans line from S.C., Va. into Georgia and Alabama. A sample from the Grainger or Claiborne Co. Tennessee families would also be very useful. If you have questions about submitting a sample please contact me directly at doctorpens@aol.com. His first wife was Lela Bell Evans. My information on your great grandmother is not well sourced. I have that she was born 16 Nov 1897 in Columbus Kansas. They were married on 12 June 1917 in Ogallala, Nebraska and she died 20 October 1925 in Nebraska. I'm not sure what town she lived in when she died, but my best guess would be Hays Springs, Nebraska. It is north of Ogallala and I'm pretty certain my grandfather lived out there for a period of time. That would need to be verified. Bernice was my dad's oldest half sister, although I'm not sure they ever met. You are correct that your grandmother was raised by Delsie Clara Miller (Stanley P. Miller's sister and my great aunt). Her first husband was Samuel Judson Wheeler and her second husband was Roy Peter Stolsig. I'm quite certain my great aunt Delsie lived in Eugene, Oregon. I remember my parents visiting once about thirty years ago. I have quite a bit of information about the Mil! ler line if you are interested. Evans" (b.1813 in NC), who might have made it as far as Dallas Co., Arkansas between 1860 and 1870. He was married to Esther Magdaline Lusk (b 1828 in NC, died abt 1870 or after). Esther Magdaline (Lusk) Evans was with William G. Evans in the Madison Co., NC census in 1860. In the 1870 Dallas Co., AR census, Esther Magdaline Evans is unfortunately and improperly shown as "Easter M. Ivins" and she has the same kids living with her, but William G. is absent. William B.C. Evans (and Dorcas Crosby) were great-grandparents of mine. Because my mother was an only child, and her father died before she finished high school (and her mother lived 500 miles away), I did not get a lot of "family information" when I was young. Of the 12 children, I have only had communication with one descendant of the oldest, Wallace Earl. I would greatly, strongly, tremendously desire to learn more about the descendants of the other ten (subracting Wallace Earl and my grandfather, Robert Lyle, from 12 leaves the ten I cite). Author: seeknwelshrose3 Surnames: EVANS- FROST-BIRDSELL-STECH Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/5266.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi and Hello! I believe we are the same Evans line. However my gggrandmother Hattie or Harriet was disowned do to the fact that she married a John Frost. My gggrandmother Harriet (Evans)Frost had a daughter named Fairy Frost, she married Thomas A. Birdsell, April 18,1877 and died Feb 8, 1903, age 25 yrs, 6 months and 20 days. She had three daughters and my grandmother was one of them. Her name was Anna Laura (Birdsell)Stech. She married my grandfather Stech in Pana, Il. My dad was their son. The information I have is rather long so I will start and finish with several messages to you. I was wondering if you have ever heard why the Evans disowned my GGGgrandmother, my father has said there was always a deep secret on his mothers side. Im thinking it may have to do with this John Frost, which by the way I haven't found a clue or a piece a paper on this man. Hope you may heard of someting along the line. Thanks if you have heard anything on this guy. I have alot of information on the Evans family starting with Jeremiah and his family came to what is now Bond/ Fayette Co., Il before 1820. With him in the party were his brothers, wife Polly, 8 children, a son-in-law, John Denton and his brothers, perhaps Sam Houston, who later married Jane Evans, and the family of his oldest son John. They settled in what is now Bear Grove Twp. near the Seminary Twp. line. Jeremiah Evans was quite prosperous, owned much land, and was a prominent man in the community. He is mentioned frequently in the old records. It was said in the county history that he was the first blacksmith in the township. He had put up a shop for his own use but did work for the other early settlers at no charge. Researchers have not been able to get back before Jermiah Evans's father in Virginia. Evans was then as now a very common name, and there were a number of John Evans. This was taken from the will of John Evans, father of Jeremiah, with some research done by! a descendant of the youngest child. John Evans b ca 1736 d 17 July, 1821 in Washington Co., Va. His wife was Ruth(last name unknown), who was already dead when he made his will, 29th June, 1821. His children: Jeremiah Evans in Illinois. 1. [EVANS] EVANS, David and Sarah - Edinburg VA
    2. Ed Evans
    3. Greetings from Michigan! I am looking for information on my G-grandparents David and Sarah Catherine Evans. To the best of my knowledge, David and Sarah had 6 children; Bessie died as a child, Joseph married Virgina Tharp, (Laura) Ellen married Luther Ward, Virginia married George Shiflett, Albert married Mary Shaffer, and my grandfather Robert Lemuel married Christina Jenkins. Shenandoah VA marriage records show David Evans married Sarah Freeman dau. of Kesiah Evans on Mar 2, 1849. In the 1850 census of Shenandoah, VA, 58th district I find a record of David (age 26) and Sarah (age 19) Evans. On the next page of the same census I find a record of Joseph (age 28) and Keziah (age 38) Evans. Does anyone have information to indicate whether Kesiah Evans indicated as the mother of Sarah Freeman the same person as Keziah Evans married to Joseph Evans? Is anyone else searching or perhaps holding information about Sarah and David? ... or Joseph and Keziah?
