Author: mldorang Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.evans/9751.2.3.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My David b. 1877 d. 1928 Married Mary? Possibly in N. I haven't been back to W-B to go to the court house and really look for him. His father was Jonathan Evans b.1849 Wales. Arrived in US 1869 on ship `England',with mother,Jane, and brothers Dennis and Alban. They joined the father David Evans in Luzerne County, PA. I got started researching when I accompanied a friend to the Wilkes-Barre Court House. While she researched I just browsed. I kept finding a David Ishmel Evans and thought, `What a different name.' When I returned to Texas I found my Mothers' bible and lo and behold there was David Ishmel Evans!! He was a son of Jonathans first marriage. I am from his second marriage and my Grandmother lived with us til she died in 1942. Does this fit anywhere in your families? I have just recently found relatives in Indiana. They are from my GGrandfathers brothers line. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I hope that you are feeling better. Since I spoke with you, I have helped my father decipher census records, and we are convinced that Ishmael Evans & Margaret Davies are the parents of our Jonathan. My grandfather always told my dad that we were related to the Davies family, but never said how. We will be excited to see the further evidence that you have mentioned. We have seen Mariah's name spelled a lot of different ways also. We believe her father was William Kelly (or Kelley). You can reach me at rphipps@ma.rr.com. I have been away and then ill. I think i am on track again. I am awaiting the marriage registration of Jonathan and Mariah which is supposed to have the Fathers names. If Ishmael is Jonathan's father then we are related! it was a long time crumbling that `brick wall.'I do hope that registration is the one we need. I found Jonathan EVANS and then a Maria KELLY in the marriage registration index. I have found her name spelled as Maria on the 1871 Census so I gave it a shot. I also think I found Ishmael and Margaret Evans, parents of Jonathen and David Evans, death registrations. I am now working on finding other siblings found in the UK Census. The registrations were to be mailed today in England. I'll get back to you. Louise Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hello "DNA Testing" People !! The messages below & the "Link" below are referring to a "Freepage on Rootsweb" that was done by the Administrator of the "EVANS Surname Page" of "Family Tree DNA" (ie. www.familytreedna.com). Here are some main facts: -Family Tree DNA is the Largest & Oldest DNA Testing Company in the USA. -Each "Surname" (ie. "EVANS" etc) have their OWN SPECIFIC WEBPAGE !!! -Their is a Specific Person who is in charge of EACH SURNAME PAGE !!! -The Specific Person who is in charge of monitoring the SURNAME PAGE may also have a seperate Personal Free Page available to anyone that will supply more complete info on the people who have taken the DNA tests on the main Surname Page. The page you have the link below is this very "Personal Page" that has been set up by Marjie Evans for those of the Main EVANS SURNAME PAGE !!! This info is supplied by only the members who have taken the DNA Test who have supplied their own Family Heritage to be shared with others !!! Marjie Evans is in the process of updating this page as we speak. She has been waiting on some additional tests of a Direct Cousin of mine - Joe Evans - since I and another direct cousins EXACTLY MATCHED ALL 67 MARKERS - on our DNA tests which is VERY RARE !!! If you have other basic questions, try emailing me personally at finlplnr2@earthlink.net.
