When I receive an email with an attachment at the bottom of the email, where does the attachment go if I don't open it? I found several attachments under C drive, program files, Internet toolkit and download. Sometimes it is a star, banner, pictures, and other things. I don't open attachments unless it is from someone I know and expecting it. Is there some way to keep them from going into these files? I'm really not sure I have explained this very well. Will this do any harm to the computer if I don't remove them or just take up space? Candace **************END OF ORIGINAL MESSAGE TEXT************** Eudora puts attachments in its own directory, i.e. C:\EUDORA\ATTACH, or whatever is the path to Eudora. There is no way to stop attachments from being placed in the ATTACH directory. What you have to do is periodically use Explorer (WinKey+E) and navigate to that directory and just delete those that you KNOW you don't want to keep. As to the "Internet Toolkit\Download" directory, that must be something that was installed for some Internet program you use. If you've deleted them, and later more show up, all you can do is just delete them also. BUT, BE CAREFUL! Unless you know for certain that they're not used by some program, leave them alone. Any attachments that are stored anywhere won't do any harm other than to, as you say, take up space. I have to clean out the Eudora ATTACH directory about once a week, since I still get email from people using those danged VCard attachments. Also, as a Listowner of 20 Lists, I receive all "bounces" from servers telling me that mail to so-and-so user can't be delivered. Most of the time, they also send worthless attachments, which have to be manually deleted. I've thought about making a DOS batch file and using Task Scheduler to run that file and delete those pesky things automatically. Have just never got around to it. SgtGeorge
