I use Eudora Light. Can someone tell me if and why Eudora Pro is better? I was thinking of updating and trying to find out all the pros and cons, if any. What is the price to upgrade? Should I buy over the internet? George, could you explain what you mean about McAfee vs Clinic? This is all very new to me and I'm trying to figure out what is best. <I use Eudora (not Netscape) as my email program, and use the standard on-my-own-computer McAfee, not Clinic. I am subscribed to Clinic, but just don't like the way it operates, too many associated problems.> I'd appreciate any help with the above questions. Thanks, Candace

Thanks, Candace **************END OF ORIGINAL MESSAGE TEXT************** Candace, you didn't say which version of Light you are using. 3.0? 4.3? Which? If you are using Light 4.3, you can click on HELP, TOPICS, then choose "What's New in Eudora EMail 4.3". If you're using an older version of Light, let me know and I'll send you the appropriate .PDF files so that you can read them and see the advantages to the newest version. As to McAfee vs. Clinic. Most of us have McAfee Scan installed on our computers. That means that we have to constantly download new DAT files to make sure that we are protected from the latest viruses/trojans/worms. The "Clinic" option at McAfee allows you to never have to download files again, and just use Clinic to scan your computer. I don't like that. It means I have to logon to the web site before I can scan my system. I feel that I no longer have any control over the programs on my system, and, instead, have to rely on a web site. There are other options at McAfee that make it a lot easier on the average "newbie", but they require that the "old" McAfee Scan be uninstalled from one's system before signing up for the new "way" of virus detection. Heck, I paid to upgrade to McAfee Scan 5.0, but when trying to install it, I was given the message that I had the "wrong" version of Windows 98!!!!! I then tried to uninstall McAfee 4.X and was given the same warning! So far, I have written 6 messages to McAfee, asking how I can correct this problem, and how I can uninstall 4.X and install 5.X. The ONLY reply I have received was one that said my credit card was being credited with the price of upgrading to 5.X. Yes, it showed up on my credit card bill, but I still don't know how to uninstall 4.X. They never sent another email in answer to any of my queries. So much for what was once the best AV program on the market. These new "whiz kids" get hired by corporations and immediately screw things up to the point that nothing works as it should. So, I'm sticking with McAfee 4.3 until they stop making new DAT files for it. Having paid the money for Clinic, I can say that it offers very little for the price. SgtGeorge
