Even doing this, I still am working on 80% when booting up and 57 to 59% the minute I open Eudora. Control panel, Multimedia Properties, audio, you can turn off the volume control. Control panel, Sounds, is where you select sounds for each action of the computer. You can turn them all off there, one at a time. Jack
