Go to his new site and read about what the sites you visit and the programs you use have placed on your machine, as a part of their programs, to follow you about. Also how they look around for your name, address, and any other information about you that may be on your hard disk. Wow, this is scary.. Be ready for this, this is just the beginning. They intend to know everything you have on your computer, and how you surf the web. The can make a data base then with what you do and where you go. They sell this to anyone wanting to sell you something, wanting to kill your computer for fun, and of course the producers of software, to see if you are using software you did not pay for. Jack I just installed OptOut, and found my system to be clean! Yeah!!!! **************END OF ORIGINAL MESSAGE TEXT************** Just a suggestion, but anytime you install a new program, be sure to use OptOut. There are hundreds of programs that contain the Aureate install program, and which secretly install it when the main program is installing. When I do major upgrades to programs that I KNOW contain Aureate, I just run OptOut again. Note: You can choose to have OptOut scan your system every time you start Windows to check for Aureate's files, but once your system is clean, I suggest you change the settings so that it does NOT load at Windows startup. Slows down the system a little, and does use some Resources which are not recovered. I just made an entry in the Quick Launch utility (Win98), where I can click it when I want to run it. If any of you who are using Win98, want to add items to Quick Launch, let me know and I'll post instructions here. You can always click Start, Programs, and then the folder for the program you want to run, but that is just not "elegant", to say the least. Having a program in Quick Launch makes it instantly available when you're another program. And, having an icon on the Desktop means you have to minimize whatever program you're in, and then click the icon. Quick Launch was one of the greatest additions that MS made to Windows! I have used WinSettings for a couple of years, which does essentially the same thing, but am slowly moving often used programs from it to Quick Launch. That way, once I have everything transferred, I don't have to put up with WinSettings and the Resources it consumes, which is considerable. SgtGeorge
