I have checked out the online manual and the configuration settings without any success, also posted an inquiry on PC 911 but no one has answered. Sorry to be so dense about this. I have recently upgraded Eudora with version 5.1 (sponsored) installed over version 3.x and am in the process of configuring the new program. In Eudora 3, whenever I checked for mail the screen activated and displayed the number of messages being downloaded along with a little meter showing the progress of the download. In Eudora 5.1 the incoming messages download quietly in the background with no indication of either the number of e-mails or the progress of the download. At the end I do receive a message alert. Is there any way I can restore the original feature of version 3, that is to be notified about number and progress of message downloads? Thanks very much for any assistance with this problem. Elizabeth, Have you tried Tools > Task Status This will bring up the task progress at the bottom of your screen. When your downloading mail, you will see the number of messages being downloaded.
