The resource meter is only a bar icon in the tray. Is there a way of having a (selectable?) sound and/or dialog box popping up, if resources go below a minimum threshold? Rgds. Stefan **************END OF ORIGINAL MESSAGE TEXT************** Actually, I made a "boo-boo" when I mentioned "alarm going off". I just get the default Windows warning sound (you can make the sound anything you want), and a window pops up saying my Resources are below the minimum. It's not really an "alarm". It goes off when Resources get below about 10%. I don't think there are any settings to change the default; it just happens. The Warning is, "90% or more of your System Resources are in use....." That lets me know that I have to close SOMETHING. Windows help files say that if Resources get to zero, the system can crash. Well, I've had mine at zero many times! And it never crashes! Everything just stops working! The Mouse won't work! But, a CTRL-ALT-DEL, and choosing a program (using the arrow keys) to stop, gives back enough Resources for me to then exit normally out of other programs. SgtGeorge
