    1. Auto Additions to Address book?

    3. First off, thanks for the instructions for changing the ReplyAttribution :-) New question: is it possible to have addresses "replied to" automatically added to the address book? I know that the addresses are added to the "drop-down" file -- but my address book is empty! My previous program did have an option to auto-add -- I had a separate address book where I filed all the replied addresses, then transferred them to my personal address book(s) as needed. I have looked thru the "options", and I did not see such a setting. Did I miss it? Thanks. Cait

There is a setting you can change (or add, if it's not already there) in the EUDORA.INI to do what Mari wants: [Settings] ReplyAttribution=At %1, you wrote: (This is the "default".) Change to: ReplyAttribution=At %1,%2 wrote: If I were replying to Mari's email, this will read, "At 12:58 AM 01/06/2000, Den & Mari:" Also add this line: ReplyAllAttribution=At %1,%2 wrote: These two lines will make sure that if you hit the "Reply" button or the "Reply to All" button, both will give the original sender's name, rather than "you". These two settings will "pick up" the sender's name, IF the FROM: address looks like this: Den & Mari <[email protected]> If the FROM: address looks like this: <[email protected]>, that is, with only an email address and no sender name, the Attribution will pick up the email address. If you want to get cute, make the two lines: ReplyAttribution=At %1,you had the nerve to say: ReplyAllAttribution=At %1,Someone on This List said: Or whatever "cute" thing you want your replies to say. NOTE: I found out how to NOT have an Attribution at all!!!!! ReplyAttribution= ReplyAllAttribution= Just don't add ANYTHING after the equal sign! There will be NO Attribution in your "Reply" or "Reply to All". Hope this helps, SgtGeorge
