    3. I don't have an answer for you especially, but I did hit Standby on mine once and it just went black. Nothing would bring it back, had to re-boot. This morning I asked the HP tech what the button was for and he said supposed to save power and come back when you touch the mouse or a key, Didn't happen. Haven't tried it again.     3. That's the way mine used to work but lately the standby has been working all right. Except for locking up Eudora. Thanks for the input.
