I set up the filter for the "<_" designation on incoming emails. I find 2 emails in the mailbox I made. I'm very curious to see whether they actually have that included, as one is from the listowner of a list I've been with for a long time. However, I'm not absolutely sure they were scanned by my Norton before being sent there, and I sure don't want to open them if not. Can't find any information in Norton Help. Tried to Norton-scan the files, per their instructions, and get an "illegal operation" every time. Tells me nothing. Anybody with any knowledge on this? Thanks. Sylvia G.

If your filter is to trap the W32.BadTrans.B@mm virus, use this instead: Any header boundary="====_ABC1234567890DEF_====" That line is unique to the virus. Pat
Check your Embedded folder in the Eudora_Mail folder. That's where the embedded "bad stuff" is being put - at least under my setup. Zone Alarm catches it before Norton does.
If you're using Eudora (which I assume you are), and open those emails, AND if Norton DIDN'T catch any infections, don't worry. If you try to open them and the embedded code tries to run, you'll be asked if you want to "download" the files. Just click NO.
