The list manager could remove the infected list member temporarily until the virus is removed so that new postings to the list do not provide a route to spread the virus. I have done so on the lists I manage, always sending a private note explaining what I have done, and that the person is welcomed back when free of infection. I also put them on the reject list so they must go through me first and assure me of a clean machine at that moment. I'll admit, it may seem a bit radical but the main source of the offending infections have been listmembers on a list with over 600 list members on it, too many to risk not taking extra precautions. -No Complaints Yet. Yes, it is true the virus attachment does not come through the RootsWeb unix system, however, with each new email that infected person receives it may be replicated and sent out privately -not through the list. Sort of like feed a fever, starve a cold! <g> Sue, who is now using EUDORA and, reading mail on website first before downloading, & updating patches for DAT files for her anti-virus program!!!
