    1. [EUDORA] Blocking?
    2. Susan
    3. Hi, All... Within the past 24 hours I have received SEVEN messages with the Sircam virus attachment from the same email address. Wrote the guy, whom I do not know... never saw the address until yesterday... anyway..wrote to tell him his system is infected. No acknowledgement (just more viruses!). He uses a cable modem so his system is online 24/7 probably and the virus sends itself out at regular intervals. In Outlook there is a way to block messages from given email addresses, but I've not been able to find any such option in Eudora Pro. Please tell me there is a way to do that!!! ? <g> Susan

    3. In Eudora it's called Filtering Messages to Folders. You just filter all messages with this email address to the Trash. Easy as that. If you haven't figured out how to filter messages yet, use the online help, it has a good explanation. 3. Dear Gene - <<In Eudora it's called Filtering Messages to Folders. You just filter all >messages with this email address to the Trash. >> Thanks... It would have been really nice if there were a way to block all messages from that address, as is true with Outlook. I did set up a filter, but for some reason it does not seem to want to "take". It may have something to do with the fact that the virus is attached and the AV program grabs that... perhaps that interferes with the filter. Thanks, anyway. Susan

    3. I don't experience the problem you had. I had to set up a filter for one person that was infected with the BadTrans and sent it out over two weeks. We seemed to be on all the same mailing lists. Everytime I sent in a message, I received it form her. Here's one thing you might try. Go the Tools - Filters. This will bring up the dialogue box to modify filters. Highlight the filter you created in the left panel. Under Header: pulldown window select <Any Header> Gene At 05:16 AM 08/03/2001 -0700, you wrote: >Dear Gene - ><<In Eudora it's called Filtering Messages to Folders. 3. Thank you, Gene... ><<I don't experience the problem you had. The same address has sent the virus to me three more times today, and one came from another address at the same ISP today as well. Here's the ISP: sc.rr.com I wrote to abuse@sc.rr.com to notify them of their subscribers' problem, but to date I've received only the usual automated reply. Susan

    3. Susan, I haven't used this option, but there is an filter selection in the ACTION area called SERVER OPTION from which you can select Fetch or Delete. According to Eudora Help, the message can be deleted from the server without fetching it. Might want to give it a try.
