    3. There have been several posts here lately having to do with Eudora and MFC42.DLL. Usually, when a problem such as this happens, it is because another program has been installed, one which replaces the original MFC42.DLL with another version, specific to the new installed program. Unfortunately, some programs install old, out- dated versions of required files, which just don't work with programs that require the latest versions. Be careful when installing new programs. If they are "good" programs and use the proper protocols for installing/replacing files, they will give you the option of replacing existing files, or keeping the versions already on your computer. READ THE WARNINGS! Look at the dates of the files already on your computer, and look at the dates of the files the new program wants to install.
