Is this the full version of ZA that does this? I have the free version and I don't recall ZA ever catching any viruses or changing file extensions - unless it did so silently.? In Zone Alarm - under Security Settings, should the Block Internet Servers be checked? (if one is connected by cable modem?) I only have the Mail-safe protection to quarantine checked. Zone Alarm changes the extension to .zlt or something like that so that the dangerous executable .exe and .doc and .scr files cannot be run. The icon is a warning, too, that Zone Alarm locked up the file. It may or may not be - but it's not safe to assume it. I removed everything from my Embedded folder and have had no problem because of doing that. I think all those files (months and months worth) were graphics imbedded in mail sent to me - mostly by spammers, I venture to guess - or by green newbies who think it's fun to include cute graphics in their email. If my settings are anything but 1024x768 24-bit true color, I see the same things you are talking about. I have no idea why it does it. But those settings suit me fine, so I don't have any reason to change it. Since Eudora is my most used program, I want to keep it happy. Interesting. My original color setting was "high color, 16 bit", and I went back to that. I didn't change anything else, but have never had the size as large as you say. It's always sat at 640 x 480 and been just fine. I reduced the size of the desktop icons, but the taskbar looks different, my grandson complained about his game and music settings, and Eudora certainly is enlarged, although I did find out how to get the toolbar back in a straight line. Hmmm. While in Eudora, I just opened up the File Browser box to check Qualcom/Eudora Mail/Embedded folder. All (about 15) were JPEG and GIF images. As I scrolled down the list, I got the Red Box - "FIRE IN THE HOLE". The Setup.Doc.scr was infected with BadTrans. The file (setup.doc.scr) wasn't there when I first opened the box and then it appeared all of a sudden when I got the warning! Very strange. I always scan before opening anything. Wonder how/when this snuck in? I'm off to do further checking............ Linda At 04:07 PM 11/26/2001, you wrote: >Yes .... Make darned sure your virus protection software is >working. I changed the color setting on the computer momentarily, and put it back to the original. But Eudora has become large--large print, even though it says small under "A", the icons across the top are piled up in two rows instead of one, and I can't seem to get it to look normal again. My desktop icons all went huge, too, but I've fixed them. Didn't affect Eudora. Anyone??? Sylvia G.

I did that. I already had "send both styled and plain text"....but based on this suggestion, I checked "ask me each time." Hi all, I use Eudora 4.2 and I have noticed that when I use the Microsoft Viewer to read my mail, I get animation on the objects, but I do not get animation if I turn the Microsoft Viewer off. Microsoft Viewer option is at: TOOLS/OPTIONS/VIEWING MAIL. Maybe this will help. Mike Mike Miller Roanoke, VA fmmiller@infi.net
