    1. Re: [EUDORA] Can Eudora reject attachments?
    2. Gene Philips
    3. You're welcome. The filter feature is why I chose Eudora. When I started with version 1, Eudora was the only program that offered message filtering. I have almost 200 filters. A bit overmuch, but I get a lot of email. I manage several lists on 2 different servers and I an assistant state archivist for Texas with 34 counties and 8 counties in OK. I also have 7 active email accounts. Eudora was also one of the first programs to let you manage multiple accounts with one email program. Version 5 is really neat for me because it is the first version I've used that multitasks the downloads. It really cuts down on the download time. 1. Re: [EUDORA] Question about signatures
    2. Gene Philips
    3. No, The signature is a plain text file that is inserted at the end of your message when you select signature or when the message is sent depending on version and settings. However, you can insert an image in your message, at least in version 5. I don't remember this feature in version 3 and I missed 4. On the menu click Edit>Insert>Picture. I haven't tried it before but will send one directly to you since attachments don't go to the list. 1. Re: [EUDORA] Can Eudora reject attachments?
    2. Gene Philips
    3. You can create a filter that will send messages with attachments to a folder. To do this open filters (Tools>Filter) Create a new filter with the Header: = <Any Header> contains multipart/mixed.Then for the action use, Transfer to click on the button labeled In and create the folder where you want it to go. In the next action select Skip Rest, so you other filter's won't take it out of the attachment folder. Then click and drag the filter to the top of your filter list. So now all of the messages with attachments, except digests from mail lists will go into that folder. 3. Double check the Mail Server (Incoming) name in the Getting started section of Tools>Options. Call your ISP and make sure it is correct. They might have changed it and didn't tell you. Since you are able to use your browser and can send mail, it's not a DNS issue. I'm betting something is wrong with the name of the incoming mail server. 3. Gene, you were right. Only it wasn't the mail server that changed it, it was Norton AntiVirus. Instead of the server name in there, Norton's was. It was also telling me it couldn't start Email protection. So both problems were solved. Thanks for replying. Sylvia G. In Eudora 3 the progress report of the downloaded e-mails popped up during the download process and then vanished, so one did not have to find a permanent place for it on the screen. But I am happy enough to have it available anywhere. 3. The STANDBY utility in Windows is one of the worst written pieces of code ever released. The majority of users who try to use it have problems of one kind or another. And, the problems are not all the same, that is, they are not consistent. One user will have problems with regaining the monitor, another will have problems with internet connections, while another might have problems opening certain programs, and so on and so on. My advice to everyone is to discontinue use of any of Windows Power Management utilities, including Standby. 3. I use 5.1, but it should work in 5.0 as well. Exactly what did you do in the Filters utility? Did you have the "focus" in the list of filters? To make sure of the focus, just left-click one of the listed filters. You should then be able to do a CTRL-SHIFT-F and type in your search word. If you don't find any filters sending emails to the TRASH folder, that means you haven't made any, in which case Eudora should NOT be sending email to the folder. I do know that if you delete filters for certain emails, those emails will then go to the IN folder, not the TRASH folder.
