    3. In yesterday's post I forgot to mention that you can use Eudora's Stationeries for another purpose. You can prepare a Stationery to REPLY to something you have received. Let's use this as an example (you can expand on this to do just about anything you want): Let's say you receive emails regularly on a certain subject. You want to have a Stationery to use to reply to those emails. I'll use one of mine as an example. On our GERMANNA COLONY Family History web site, I have a link that users can click to be notified of future postings for new "Germanna Notes". If a user clicks that link, he/she can send me an email saying he/she wishes to be so notified. When I receive such a "Notify Me" email, while it's OPEN, I can go to "Stationeries", find "Notify Me Confirmations", and right-click it. I then chose "Reply With". That pops up a new email window with the original text, AND with my "reply". So very easy, and so very quick. The possibilities are limitless. It would be very helpful for those who use eBay and want to reply to the emails they receive when someone has won a bid on their offerings. 3. Hi again Patije. It seems you STILL have some very serious problems with your Eudora. These things keep happening with your program and they should NOT happen! There is something, somewhere, in some of the Eudora files that has become corrupted. I don't think you will ever solve it until you completely uninstall Eudora, clean out the Registry, and then reinstall. This is, of course, AFTER you have backed up ALL the files that contain your Mailboxes, Folders, and Emails. I have seen this happen before with other programs besides Eudora. Sometimes when upgrades to programs are installed over existing programs Windows doesn't do things exactly as they are supposed to be done. That results in corrupted files -- usually a matter of certain things in the Registry files not being removed/changed when the upgrade is installed. It is rare, but it does happen. Patije, if you're ready, I already have an email to you formatted, showing what files need to be backed up before uninstalling and re-stalling. 1. Re: [EUDORA] Re:(George) Eudora Stationery
    2. George W. Durman
    3. You are right-clicking in the Icon Bar! You have to right-click in the window that opens when you open the Stationery window. In the Menu Bar at the top of the page (the one that says File, Edit, Mailbox, Message, etc.), click "Tools"; then go down the list and click "Stationery". A windows should open up with 5 icons at the top; the 4th from the left is the Stationery icon, and should be automatically open. In the open space under these icons, you should see a "white space", that is, there's nothing there, if you haven't already made any "Stationeries". Right-click in THAT space and choose "New". If you're clicking "Tools:Stationery" and NO new window opens, then something is definitely wrong! A tip about the window that contains "Mailboxes", "File Browser", "Signatures", "Stationery", and "Personalities". If your monitor is large enough, and if you are using a screen resolution of 800x600 or larger, it is very, very convenient to have that window open at all times. It contains the things that you should be using constantly. For instance, if you have the "Mailboxes" part open by clicking on that icon, you will be able to see all your Mailboxes, and the folders under them. Any one of them with "un-read" emails will be in BOLD text. That way, you don't have to have checked "Open Mailbox" under "Tools:Options:Getting Attention". You don't have to have Mailboxes opened whenever they receive new emails; that takes up a LOT of system resources and RAM; instead keep the referenced window open and look for the BOLD text to see which Mailboxes/ Folders have new mail. Now, a word about leaving that window open. Once you have managed to open it, right-click any of the 5 icons, or anywhere in the TOP of the window, not in the "white area". Make sure you have checked "Allow Docking". Make sure you DON'T have checked "Float in Main Window" or "Hide". Maybe that's the problem -- maybe "Hide" is checked. If so, UNCHECK it. Once you have checked "Allow Docking", left-click anywhere in the grey area at the top and drag the window wherever you want it. I find it best located on the left side of the screen. Then you can grab the edges and position and size it the way you want it. Now you have all the 5 tools available at your fingertips! No need to click Tools:Stationery, or Tools:Signatures, etc., in the Menu Bar. Once you've positioned and sized this tools window where you want it, you can re-position your other windows. 1. Re: [EUDORA] Eudora Stationery
    2. George W. Durman
    3. Hi Sylvia: To make a Stationery (actually a form letter to use over and over), open up Stationery. There are three ways to open it. One is to click on Tools in the Menu Bar, then click on Stationery; the second way is to Right-Click on the Icon Bar and choose Customize, on the left side of the resulting window, click Tools, then on the right side click on the 5th icon from the left, top row, and drag that icon to your Icon Bar; the third way is to "dock" the "Tools" window to the left of your main window, so as to have all the tools available all the time -- you can size the docked window to take up little space. Once you have the Stationery tool showing, Right-Click anywhere in it and choose "New". What you type in the resulting email will be what is sent automatically if you choose it. For instance, I have Stationeries set up to sub and unsub users from all 13 of the Lists I manage, which means 26 Stationeries, 1 each for the -L mode and 1 each for the -D mode. Plus, I also have them set up to get lists of subscribers for each of the 13 Lists. You could make one for notification to eBay buyers, leaving the TO: header blank and type in, or paste in, the address before sending. Once you've made the Stationery, you will need to save it; when you choose "Save", the "Stationery subdirectory of Eudora will open. Type in a good description for the name. Hint: if you want that Stationery to show up at the top of the list, put a ! or # in front of the name. If you need help, I will be happy to do what I can. You can have as many Stationeries as you want. I have over 50 of them. Once you do the first one, you can experiment with others to get the hang of it. Once you have them made, open the Stationery tool and double-click whichever one you want. That will pop up a window showing the already filled-in email. Make any changes or additions and click Queue. I can send out 26 emails to get subscriber lists in a little over 1 minute. Forgot to say that when making the Stationery, you can choose the FROM: (sender) address you want to use, where you have more than one email address; you can choose whatever signature you want to use, whichever files you want to attach, etc. Hope this helps, SgtGeorge At 02/05/2002 11:18 AM Tuesday, Sylvia Gould wrote: *********START OF ORIGINAL MESSAGE TEXT********* >Do I understand this correctly? If so, tell me what I'm missing to make it work. My Help file says to click on Tools/Stationery, and I can click on New and go from there. When I click on Stationery absolutely nothing happens. Under Tools/Options/Sending Mail, it says --Default: No default, --and that can't be changed, apparently. Then it says--" Select defaults when not using stationery ---default signature "Standard". Is there something here that needs to be changed, and if so, how? Thanks a bunch. Sylvia G.
