You see I have a very unique computer in that it either loses time in a big way or gains time in a big way (I'm talking 10 to 15 minutes here) but never consistently. Since this is the only clock in the room, I'd like it to be right! Since I got my cable modem a month ago and have had the time program in the systray, the most it has been off is 10 seconds!!! But I still worship my picky lil puter and spend a lot of time with it <VBG> Rene' (snip) **************END OF ORIGINAL MESSAGE TEXT************** Hi René. Have you checked the battery lately? It could be getting weak. If the battery is OK, here's a thought. When my grandchildren visit (they're here now, until Sunday night), they play many games that are old DOS programs. I can ALWAYS count on my system clock getting messed up when DOS games are played! I've never received an acceptable answer as to WHY this happens -- it just does! If you're using any intensive DOS program, it COULD be the culprit. If not, then I would certainly check out the systems battery. How old is the mother board that you are now using? Losing, or gaining, that many minutes over a short time has to be either a failing battery, or DOS programs that skew the time. And, as far as that goes, why do you need to load the time-setting program into memory? Why couldn't you just make an icon for it and activate it whenever you feel it is necessary? (Also have a suggestion on how to type your name and use the "real" "é" instead of the "e'". To make the "é" just hold down the ALT key and type 130 on the number pad on your keyboard. Just a suggestion.) SgtGeorge

I've downloaded the Xteq and all the HUNDREDS of plugin files.. LOLOL.. the only one that I can't get is the xo scrap zip.. the page is no longer available. There was not a forwarding addy for it. I'm hoping it will work without it.. Now, I'm assuming tho these plugin files are all for different parts of the system, that I can just unzip them in my Xteq program, right.. ?? g Mike & Ginger Woodcock/EagleRun Australian Shepherds [email protected] http://www.eaglerun1.com Ginger's WebDesign is here to help with your Web Needs, Give us a call, or email with your questions. Hey Patrice! You're not alone ;) I didn't have any problems with the Eudora Security fix but then again I'm still using EudoraPro 4.1. It does what I want so I haven't bothered to upgrade :) I believe the warnings were already in there but I just did a copy & past and replaced the whole line then saved. No problems at all..... St.George & the Dragonslayers;-) I would like Eudora to open WITHOUT a new message ready to send. I have been searching the Tools/Options and can't find a choice anywhere. Every time I open Eudora, I have to <phftt> close the new message window, and THEN click that it's OK to close the window. I am using Eudora 4.2. I am sure there was an option in the previous version or I am looking right at it in this version with a "if it was a snake..." problem. Thanks in advance. [email protected], Patrice
Rene, I was beginning to feel very lonely out here. It's good to know you are also using Norton. Did you have any problem with the Eudora Security update at: <http://www.eudora.com/security.html> When I tried to change the INI previously, the Extra Warnings were not even there. I suspect Norton AV is the culprit (includes the VBS protection in the AV), but would like to know for sure. All help appreciated... What do you mean by "ready to send"? ... a new message that is opened...a blank one? If you just want the blank Eudora program (without any open folders) just close them all before closing the program.
