I subbed to the list on June 28 and got my confirmation but have not seen any mail. So just testing to see if I am subbed. Patricia
Patrice, you have your signature in both the Stationery and in the Signature. Try removing one of them. I noticed that the WordPerfect Alarm Clock was in the start up tray. I exited from it. Voila! Problem solved. Go figure... Thanks for your response. Rel@ively, Patrice

Hi, I really need some help! PLEASE! The alert sound on Eudora just changed from it's soft melody to a "da-ding". I hate it. I want the default melody back! I know this doesn't seem like an important problem, but it's driving me crazy. George or George or anyone -- PLEASE help. Rel@ively, Patrice
If you click on the button below the "Play a sound" check box, you can use any sound you want. If any of you are ex-US Navy and would like a sound reminiscent of it, I have a wav file for you. Just let me know and I'll send it to you. Gene Phillips At 11:28 AM 06/21/2001 -0500, you wrote: >At 11:22 AM 6/21/2001, you said: >>Hi, >> >>I really need some help! PLEASE! David, what kind of connection are you using? Just because you are not actively using an internet connection doesn't mean that you are "not on line". Why should we remove the carrots? Those little angle brackets are very important to keep in place in our messages. The angle brackets indicate "quoted text" that I quote back to you as I reply to you. When you reply in turn, two angle brackets appear in the original quote, then one in front of my last reply, none in front of your new text. This then graphically illustrates the thread of a conversation. We want too easily display the order of our e-mail conversation, as it takes place, so that we can look back at the original statement, each reply, each argument, each point, all in turn. This would be especially important when it comes to discussions about something such as genealogical research. Just a thought about why we should keep them, Cyndi
Hi, I'm having a problem with Eudora's Stationary. I set everything up just like I want it, including the signature (using the signature option). When I use the Stationary to respond to a message, the signature appears twice on the message that is finally posted. It only appears once on the "preview" below that new-fangled horizontal bar. Yes, I have the sig option checked for the message. If I don't, the sig doesn't appear at all. ::::pulling hairs out ... one by one::: Help. Rel@ively, Patrice

Hi Candace, I would strongly suspect that this is one of the new viruses that hit the net last month. I can't tell you exactly which one, but I do remember one that did come across as you stated, "Bad Decode of Attachment". Best to get rid of it. Cheers Peter. I'm receiving the "Bad Attachment Decode" box several times when downloading my email. Can someone tell me if this means a virus or what? I'm using Eudora Light program. I'd appreciate any help. Candace
Mo, I truly hope I am misunderstanding you. What I DO understand is that (I think) you seem to believe that if it doesn't concern you, it shouldn't be posted here or discussed????? This IS the EUDORA-MAIL Mailing List, where Eudora users write to find answers to their questions, and solutions to their problems. Am I correct in thinking that somehow a subject without relevance to you is aggravating to you? Did YOU already know which files to backup to save the Address Book? If not, you learned something. If so, then how about letting others learn the same thing by discussing it here? It records anything on your website that has a "mailto:" reference in the html source. Then the robot is probably configured to "spoof" addresses that are picked up so that the spammers can hide behind it. So it's working two ways, it's going to send spam to any email address that it picked up, and it's going to try to hide behind any of the email addresses that it picks up. Does this make sense? If you want, you can protect yourself by using a Java Script that is set up for "Anti-Spam email". If you do a web search for free Java Scripts, you should find one of the "Anti-spam email scripts" on one of the free sites. Debbie
