I am descended from the Etheringtons, sons of carpet makers, who moved to Alberta. I know that Thomas Hutchison Etherington came from England through Philadelphia to Ontario and that he and his brothers ran the Empire Carpet Works in St. Catharines. Thomas was a son of James Henry Etherington, who married Elizabeth Wroe. Can you provide me with a connection here to the rest of the family?

Hi fellow listers, I have been administrator for this list for a while and thought, it's time to introduce myself. I administer several mailing lists and have been searching for various ancestors for quite a few years. Currently I don't have a lot of time, 3 children in soccer and other activities seems to keep me busy. I don't have a lot of rules, please stick to the Etherington name, no off topic. So far, this has not been a problem on this list. If you go on holidays or change e-mails, please unsubscribe from the list. I only have 2 Etheringtons in my tree and I would like to find some more. Ann ETHERINGTON married John BOYES (1734 - ????). I have no information on Ann. They had a son, John BOYES. That's all I know. Then I have Mary ETHERINGTON (1739 - 1819), married Bethuel II BOYES on July 3, 1764 in Little Driefield, Yorkshire, England. She was Bethuel's 2nd wife. I would like some more information on my 2 Etherington ladies. The 2 Boyes men are related. I am wondering if the 2 Etherington ladies are related as well. We've had a few new listers. I invite you all to post your interests. Any help is appreciated.

She migrated to Australia where she married a John Wallace in Victoria and one of the witnesses on their marriage certificate is Thomas Boucher......any relation to you? Looking forward to hearing from you re further research.
