I suggest going at least to 67 markers. I don't know if Ancestry DNA has a project fo Etheredge/Ethridge/Etheridge, but I know that Family Tree DNA as a project with 20 members located here: http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Etheridge I believe that you can get the DNA testing done with either group and enter the project regardless of where you went with for testing (i.e. - you could use Ancestry DNA, but still enter the Family Tree DNA project, and just manually enter your results).
