Numerous Willaby/Willoughby's. My Burrel b.1793. His son Willaby b.1830. Plenty of info on father/son and their descendants. Keep in mind the first rule of genealogy: "Spelling doesn't Count" when looking for these folks but especially the Mebane/Mabin line. For those searching for Burrel Etheridge/Anna Mebane, there is a letter circulating from Burrel's grandson, Japser,indicating Burrel's parents Nathan and Martha were born Ireland. I don't believe this to be correct, but have no proof. Others have indicated that Burrel's father was Caleb, but again, no proof. I would love to have someone tell me they found the holy grail of this line. Who were the parents of Burrel of 1793? Phillip Etheridge had five children. When he died 1820, four (Sarah, Nathan, Jackson, Nancy) went to the custody of another Willoughby Etheridge and one (James) was identured to Nathan Nesbitt. Later the first four were living with Burrel and wife Anna. Were Phillip and Burrel broth! ers? Cousins? Some other relation?
