I'm new to this research lark, but as my parents are now 83 & 80 we wanted to do as much as possible before the inevitable happens and memories are lost. It hasn't helped that we only recently found out that the man me & my sister called grand dad married my nan AFTER she'd given birth to my mum, fathered by someone completely different. IE: Ronald G Tidman who died during a bombing attack on the ship where he was an able seaman in 1942. So the Tidmans are a completely new branch of the James family lol Any clues as to where I go next to find out why Henry Tidman (at age 13) was in a workhouse in Lingwood, Norfolk according to the 1891 census?
