Additional information: My Etheredge family was in Halifax County, NC in the 1790's and possibly into the early 1800's before moving to Georgia. They were later in Warren County, Georgia. Two male Etheredge cousins have participated in a yDNA test. The results indicated no match with another Etheredge family; however, the results matched descendents of a Butt(e) family from Norfolk County, VA. Caswell Etheredge was born in NC, and the family bible lists the death of Selah Etheredge (likely his mother). A 1795 NC will indicates that Selah Etheredge was the daughter of Unity Etheredge (female). Caswell Etheredge moved to Georgia with his mother as a small child according to traditional family information.
