My Grandmother was Dorothy Helen T Phillips (nee Broomfield) Her parents were Charles Broomfield 1858 and Hannah Mary Etheridge 1860. I believe Hannah's parents to be William Etheridge and Jane Dymott, they married in 1856, Lymington, Hampshire. As i have just started i have no more info at the moment but would love some help :-). Numerous Willaby/Willoughby's. My Burrel b.1793. His son Willaby b.1830. Plenty of info on father/son and their descendants. Keep in mind the first rule of genealogy: "Spelling doesn't Count" when looking for these folks but especially the Mebane/Mabin line. For those searching for Burrel Etheridge/Anna Mebane, there is a letter circulating from Burrel's grandson, Japser,indicating Burrel's parents Nathan and Martha were born Ireland. I don't believe this to be correct, but have no proof. Others have indicated that Burrel's father was Caleb, but again, no proof. I would love to have someone tell me they found the holy grail of this line. Who were the parents of Burrel of 1793? Phillip Etheridge had five children. When he died 1820, four (Sarah, Nathan, Jackson, Nancy) went to the custody of another Willoughby Etheridge and one (James) was identured to Nathan Nesbitt. Later the first four were living with Burrel and wife Anna. Were Phillip and Burrel broth! ers? Cousins? Some other relation? As of now, I don't have time to send anything; my sister had a heart attack and died August 4th, along with health and coping, it was 96 degrees on the porch and we've been having over a hundred and needing rain. Ray's father, Louis M. Etheridge, gf. James K., gggf, William Etheridge and wife, Sarah H. Williams with sons located in Arkansas, 1852, from Alabama--they were married in Walton Co., GA in 183l. Family back, from SC and NC. James K. had to brothers in AR, White Co., Bald Knob, town; they were Guildford M. and Allen Riley. Lois F. Etheridge Left out one: his gf was John William Etheridge and change the others on. Louis M., John William., James K., and William and Sarah.
