Grand dad George (Edward took on my mum at 3 years old and of course fathered 5 children with Nan George (Louisa) - all half siblings to mum, naturally, but something she didn't know until just before my Nan's death. I think Nan's mum was Ellen Rose or Rose Ellen and possibly her maiden name was Brown, but not 100% on that. Ronald Tidman made my Nan pregnant around 1932, with mum being born 1933,but then obviously went on to marry Else Wright as you've found out, before setting off to war and losing his life the next year. Just off to the shops, so I'll have a look at that other site you mentioned when I get back. I have not searched this family a ton and some of my info was lost when my computor crashed. I found James civil war records says he was born in Wilson County, Tn. In 1860 James is in Sumner County, TN where he married Margaret Gambol. There was a George Etheridge in the same county who married Eliza Jane Dickenson June 1854, I have been trying to figure ut who this George was. Maybe the son of Mathew born 1785 ? I am trying to figure out why James was in Sumner County in 1860. Also who is the Thomas Etheridge the dna test says you descend from ? I don't think he ever knew his parents were really his grandparents and a sister was his mom. My maternal 2nd great grandfather was out of wedlock and his father had his own issues what with the talk of the town[s] being that he was Lord Nelson and "that Hamilton woman"'s love child. Any family claiming no illegitimate children must not have done any research. Anyway. I see that Louisa V W Thompson was born Jun 1917, Forehoe, Norfolk. Her mother's maiden name was listed as Warren. And of course Louisa married Edward in Mar 1936, Blofield, Norfolk. Having been born about 1902, what was the mother's first name? Or have I drifted into another line? Go to freebmd.rootsweb.com and you can spend hours looking up relatives. They also give the Volume and page number so you can send for the records. My Spencer, Pidcock, Wilson, etc., came from Notts. Now I found Ronald Gordon Tidman married Elsie A Wright in 1941, reg. 4th quarter, Acle, Norfolk.
