    3. G'day folks, I got an email from a Daniel's researcher who has several generations of Daniel's with Estridge as the first name and the suspicion the name came from a marriage with the Estes. Snipping from his email: Thomas Daniel was born about 1750, possibly in Virginia. The first record I have of him is in the 1789 census of Madison County, KY. He can be traced almost yearly from 1789 until 1806 in Kentucky tax records. He moved to the Indiana Territory by 1807.. He is mentioned in many records in Illinois, last in 1821 in Greene County, IL, where he may have died. Thomas probably married about 1770 and had John (1773 VA-1849 OH), William (1775 VA-1829 IL), Thomas (1777 VA-1843 OH), Estridge (1782 VA-1852 KY), James (1784 VA-1860 TX), Elizabeth (1789 KY- ), and Walker (1790 KY-1828 IL). There were probably more children ... Four of Thomas's sons had sons that were named Estridge/Eastridge, and there are probably two dozen descendants who had that first or middle name. Popular names for Thomas' granddaughters were Narcissa, Elizabeth and Malinda .. [me again] Circumstancial evidence suggests that this Daniel's family may have come from Caroline Co, VA. Anyone have anything that could shed some light? Thanks, David. -- I bless the day I met you and I thank God that he let you lay beside me for a moment that lives on and the good news is I'm better for the time we spent together and the bad news is you're gone. - "You're Gone", Diamond Rio DC2.D A+++!
