G'day Donna, Got the following from Linda .. I'm surprised I didn't remember it myself. The Nancy who married William Cockerham _was_ the daughter of an Elisha Estes since there's a court record mentioning it, re the slave below. I've seen an extract of the record .. likely somewhere in my unsorted archives. :) FmlyHstry@aol.com wrote: > I think that record about the slave that Elisha Estes loaned/rented? > to WWC & the interest in the slave belonged to wife Nancy & her > children tells it all. Right you are David-- You sent me that notation or Li Ann did just recently plus I had already seen it long ago. The court record does not say which Elisha this is. 1. Is he the one who lived where it turned into Charlotte Co. I think so, but we need someone to share the will with us to know for sure. 2. Elisha of Henry didn't have a Nancy, but his probably daughter-in-law, Mary Stone Townsend Estes, did, but she is thought to be a Townsend. And Nancy Townsend is proven bu court records to have m. Daniel Richardson. 3. many other Elishas I think the best candidate for Nancy's father is Elisha of Charlotte. Later! Donna Marayong wrote: > > G'day Donna, > > Got the following from Linda ..
